POETRY READING AT THE YELLOW HOUSE

April is National Poetry Month.
In celebration, the Yellow House Community Arts Center in West Plains, is hosting a poetry reading featuring poets Bruce Carr, Gordon Johnston, Dale Ernst, Beth Hykes, and Miriam Johnson.
The reading will take place at 7:00 p.m. on April 8 at The Yellow House Community Arts Center, 209 Trish Knight St., in West Plains, MO.

Just a reminder about our ongoing contest (MSPS summer contest is now in full swing), the deadline is a postmarked date of September 1, 2016, the contest rules and all other information can be found on the MSPS website.
The deadline date for the National Federation of State Poetry Societies contests is approaching soon though—March 15, 2016 (postmarked date), so if you wish to enter their contests, now's the time to get your poems together and send them off. All the information on entering can be found on their website nfsps.com. There is a link to the NFSPS website on the MSPS website, mostatepoetry.com.
I am sure some contest would be found to suite anyone's preferences. All our members are eligible … our membership in the national organization (NFSPS) is covered when we pay our yearly dues to MSPS. So look over their contests, there are prizes awarded for every contest—anywhere from $1,000.00 dollars, (the highest prize) on down to $15.00, which I think is the lowest, but check it out.
Again, the deadline for entering is March 15, the same date our Spare Mule editor reminded us to get our articles, poems and so on into Spare Mule for publication, so March 15 is an important date and again it is rapidly approaching.
